Shawnee Thornton Hardy has worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs for over 16 years. She has a Master’s degree in Special Education and  is  a 500 hour RYT, E-RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher), RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher) and a member of IAYT (The International Association of Yoga Therapists). She is the author of the book Asanas for Autism and Special Needs – Yoga to Help Children with their Emotions, Self-Regulation and Body Awareness and the creator of the C.A.L.M.M. Yoga Toolkit, A curriculum to support all children in finding their CALMM.  Shawnee trains others in teaching yoga to children of all abilities through her Yoga School – Asanas for Autism and Special Needs. She lives in San Diego, CA.

Yoga for Children w Autism & Special Needs
This 1 hour webinar will discuss the benefits of yoga for children who struggle with these challenges and provide suggested poses and breathing strategies that increase focus and concentration, teach expression of uncomfortable or difficult emotions, support self-regulation and help develop a greater sense of body awareness. Chair yoga poses will be included that encourage the practice of yoga for any and all abilities.
