Lucy Rosenblatt

Lucy-R100Lucy is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, with over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist. Lucy’s lifelong love of dance and her appreciation of the therapeutic benefits of both dance and yoga, led her to become certified in Yoga Meets Dance™ in 2006. In 2009 she began training in Creative Kids Yoga®, becoming 200 hour certified in 2012. In 2008 Lucy designed and facilitated a program of yoga and dance adapted for children with an Autism Spectrum disorder. This program became the subject of a research project jointly sponsored by Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT and the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind/Body Medicine, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and Mass General Hospital. The results of that study were published in the November 2011 edition of the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine.

From this experience, Lucy created Yoga Movement Therapy™(we could also make this a link to my website) a program for children, teens and young adults with autism and other special needs. Lucy teaches classes in communities, yoga studios and schools. She also conducts workshops and trainings throughout the New England area and beyond. She feels very blessed to have been given an opportunity to “move” in this direction at this point in her life.
